Helping People Live Better Lives Through Fresh Food Access

At Natco Credit Union, we believe helping people live better lives goes beyond financial wellness. That’s why we donate to organizations that create meaningful impact for our members and the communities we serve.

We are proud to share that Natco was selected by MeridianLink as a recipient of an award recognizing enhancements to our lending processes and optimization efforts. As part of this recognition, MeridianLink provided us the opportunity to select a charitable organization to receive a $1,000 donation in our name.

After careful consideration, we chose AmpleHarvest.org, a nationwide nonprofit focused on reducing food waste and fighting hunger by connecting home gardeners with local food pantries.

What makes this mission especially meaningful is that local food pantries in our area participate in the program, creating a direct connection between community generosity and neighbors who may benefit from access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

According to AmpleHarvest.org, billions of pounds of fresh produce go unused each year while many food pantries struggle to provide nutritious fresh food options. Their technology-driven approach helps bridge that gap by helping gardeners easily locate nearby food pantries that welcome fresh produce donations.

This initiative not only helps address food insecurity, but also supports healthier communities and reduces unnecessary food waste. Even a small surplus harvest can make a meaningful difference for local families.

We encourage members of our community who garden at home to learn more about how they can participate and give back locally.

Together, small acts of generosity can create a lasting impact in our community.
